Rosa Clara 2014

The new collection of Rosa Clara wedding dresses for 2014 is truly stunning. Structured dresses with billowing skirts, lace overlays and intricate detailed embellishments reminiscent of haute couture. Rosa Clara is stocked all over the Middle East but unfortunately not yet in the UAE; a quick hop over to Qatar it will have to be.

Oozing the1970’s vibe

Like many brides I was completely head over heels for any ‘boho bride’ that I laid my eyes on whilst planning my wedding. I just loved (and still do) the tousled hair, the disarranged bouquets and the yards of long flowing lace and silks. Well today is all about going back to the emergence of the modern day bohemian vibe; the hippies of the 1960’s – 1970’s.

There is much to be taken from this era in terms of wedding day styling. Think VW camper van, mismatched table settings, flower crowns, bags of colour, crochet and maybe throw in an oversized floppy hat for good measure.

Whilst a full blown hippie wedding might not be everyone’s taste, there are definitely pockets of this era that will add to a bridal boho vibe just perfectly.

Romona Keveza Spring 2014

Celebrity red carpet couturier of choice, Romona Keveza’s Spring 2014 collection paid tribute to timeless style. Named ‘A Passage Through Time’, Keveza’s latest offering fused great fashion moments of the past with a modern sensibility. Each gown within the collection represents a particular era; from the elegance of the 1920’s right through to the millennium and into the future, this collection is exquisitely diverse.  01_Romona-Keveza_Couture-Spring-2014_RK525-Front (2) 02_Romona-Keveza_Couture-Spring-2014_RK526-Front (2)03_Romona-Keveza_Couture-Spring-2014_RK527_Front (2) 04_Romona-Keveza_Couture-Spring-2014_RK528-Front (2) 05_Romona-Keveza_Couture-Spring-2014_RK529-Back (2) 06_Romona-Keveza_Couture-Spring-2014_RK530-Front (2) 07_Romona-Keveza_Couture-Spring-2014_RK531-CloseUp (2) 08_Romona-Keveza_Couture-Spring-2014_RK532-Back (2) 09_Romona-Keveza_Couture-Spring-2014_RK533-Front (2) 10_Romona-Keveza_Couture-Spring-2014_RK534-CloseUp (2)

A vintage touch

A vintage touch is one of the most popular themes for any wedding day and with good reason; it’s just so darn romantic.

For this moodboard I’ve taken inspiration from Downton Abbey (if you haven’t watched it then you really should) and the early 1900’s without trying to get too distracted by the Gatsby era of abundance and art deco.

One of my favourite new loves has to be the shoulder necklace which fits in perfectly to a vintage vibe, in fact these images are making me hanker after one myself. You know, for all the balls I attend….I digress.

If like many brides you want to achieve a romantic look but don’t want to go overboard on a vintage theme, then why not add some ‘splashes’ of vintage. Lace, old suitcases, leather bound books and lavender are some of the easiest ways to achieve these ‘splashings’. This is an easy and accessible theme to incorporate into your day and if you’re a fan of the this era I guarantee it will make your heart soar. 7f4345ef4cc598478622203b629a4c63 (2) a2ad5cf043d406cd7a66c00be97bf0ab (2) gina meola (2) 7511f5eae657d837738b0b15b1496440 (2) f0e373e5c4b7ec819b9a01718b0ca4cc (2) 8f321327030c02517d7262035fb5671d (2) dd1cc73a2ee35336014eeeff4591ad58 (2) 83847517ad83c8f605ae42805a6b24f3 (2) 81ec65feadeb04b5719979d33d51b179 (2) 0cda4ddc293d2d16191e7bf98e2a44f0 (2) erich mcvey (2) 243757398552268940_hbdi19uU_c (2) katy lunsford (2) 8650dd28c4fba6e0e331f2a55ebfc069 (2) Kate Osborne 875041b3f56c1557fd1563aa492a4c5e (2)

Chartreuse

Bold colours are definitely making waves in the wedding world at the moment so today is all about the little known colour chartreuse. Somewhere between yellow and green lies chartreuse; a bold statement of a colour that I love.

Immortalised in Jason Wu’s wedding dress, chartreuse is back on the fashion radar and making its way into weddings. Used in the right way chartreuse can bring zest into your wedding décor.
